Lenovo launched the ThinkPad L13 Gen 4 and ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 4 at MWC 2023 today. The L13 and L13 Yoga now feature upgraded internals to Intel 13th gen Raptor Lake and AMD Ryzen 7000 along with a few added display options including ones with low blue light emissions. Memory comes soldered on Intel variants but is expandable on the Ryzen models.
The Lenovo ThinkPad L Series is known to offer several advantages over the more expensive T Series in terms of upgradability and battery life. At MWC 2023 today, Lenovo is refreshing the ThinkPad L13 and L13 Yoga to Gen 4 with upgrades to Intel 13th gen Raptor Lake with vPro and AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs.

Both the ThinkPad L13 Gen 4 and the ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 4 offer both Intel 13th gen and AMD Ryzen 7000 options. While the ThinkPad L13 Gen 3 offered upgradeable memory across both Intel and AMD variants, the new L13 Gen 4 and L13 Yoga Gen 4 with Intel options feature LPDDR5 RAM up to 32 GB, which means soldered memory.
The Ryzen 7000-based L13 Gen 4s, however, offer upgradeable DDR5 DIMMs. All SKUs can now support up to 2 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSDs.
The ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 4 is a smidgen thinner this year at about 17.06 mm compared to last year’s 17.3 mm. The weight gets reduced by 100 g as well.
The other major change this year with the ThinkPad L13 series is with respect to the display. Unlike the Gen 3, the L13 Gen 4 offers several 13.-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display options including 300 nits 100% sRGB and 45% NTSC non-touch, 300 nits touch, and 400 nits non-touch with TUV Low Blue Light emissions.
Similarly. the ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 4 offers 13.3-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS touch displays with 300 nits or 400 nits brightness, the latter being certified for low blue light emissions. While the L13 Yoga Gen 3 offered an optional 5 MP world-facing camera, all ThinkPad L13 Gen 4 models this year only come with FHD sensors.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.1 and optional 4G LTE WWAN. We also get to see an additional USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port this time for a total of two — the Intel variants will have a Thunderbolt 4 and a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C while both the ports are of the USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C variety in case of AMD. A USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, HDMI 2.0-b-out, and a combo audio jack round up the port selection.
The Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Gen 4 and L13 Yoga Gen 4 will be available in Thunder Black and Storm Grey color variants from April 2023 at prices starting from €839 and €980, respectively.
