Ryzen 7000 processors have seemingly had their prices cut to make the Zen 4-based chips a more attractive purchase ahead of the financially crucial holiday season. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X has led the price-cut charge, with it currently being offered for under US$600 in the United States, at around €650 in some European retailers, and for close to £600 for UK buyers.

While there was no denying the fact that AMD had produced the goods when it came time to test the performance capabilities of the new Ryzen 7000 desktop processors, there was some complaint about the costs involved, with the Zen 4 chips requiring motherboards with the AM5 socket and DDR5 memory. However, it appears that there have been attractive price cuts made across the four currently available Raphael chips, with the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X heading the charge thanks to its availability on Newegg at a new low of US$573.99, down 17% from US$699.

Bearing in mind that Ryzen 7000 was only released in September, this is clearly an aggressive move to make a potentially costly Zen 4 setup become more palatable to desktop PC builders. The Ryzen 5 7600X is now listed at US$248.99 (from US$299), the Ryzen 7 7700X is at US$348.99 (from US$399), and the Ryzen 9 7900X is down to US$473.99 (from US$549). It’s not just shoppers in the US that can benefit though, as the same retailer is offering the Ryzen 7000 processors at a discount for UK buyers too: 7950X: £611.99 (previously £753.59); 7900X: £506.39 (previously £592.79); 7700X: £373.19; 7600X: £266.39.

ComputerBase (via VideoCardz) has reported huge Ryzen 7000 price cuts in Europe, too. With focus on the top-end AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, the price for that particular SKU has apparently dropped from €849 to €670, with one retailer in the area purportedly selling the Zen 4 chip for as low as €648, meaning an over €200 price drop for the 16-core beast. Tellingly, the most drastic price cuts have been made very recently, with AMD and retailers alike no doubt eyeing the potential lucrative windfalls that both Black Friday and the holiday/Christmas season can provide.
